Microgrid Solutions​

A Microgrid is a localized energy system that can operate independently or in conjunction with the main power grid. It typically consists of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) like solar panels, wind turbines, or generators, Energy Storage Systems like Batteries (BESS), an Energy Management System (EMS), a Point of Common Coupling (PCC) where the Microgrid connects to the main grid allowing it to either draw from or supply to the larger grid and the Consumers of the energy produced like buildings or facilities. These components are connected to provide power to a specific area, such as an Island, City, Community, Industrial or Residential facility.

Types of Microgrid

1. Grid-connected Microgrids operate in parallel with the main grid but can disconnect and operate independently when necessary.

2. Off-grid Microgrids operate completely independently of the main grid, and are often found in remote or isolated locations.

3. Hybrid Microgrids combine different energy sources and can switch between grid-connected and off-grid modes based on conditions.
